First of all - I love you guys. When the comments came in after last night's post I felt so loved and even laughed and smiled at some of the funnier stuff that y'all said.
After I cried, blogged and drank some water, Bruce and I turned on our trusty radio, lit some candles and I did a puzzle while he tied flies with some new material that he bought at work. In all honesty - the dark nights really aren't bothering me (they are actually kind of peaceful!) - it's the lack of water!
The good news is that the power IS back at the church (a few things are still not working, but they apparently come from a different line than everything else) and our phone and internet have been restored. So I do have access to outlets that I don't have to fight Starbucks-patrons for, water out of a tap, lights that turn on with a switch and wifi.
It's the little things.
And honestly - you all have kept me so sane throughout this blackout. I don't know what I would have done if I hadn't seen the encouraging comments come through every day. You encouraged me when I tried to be strong and let me melt down when I hit my breaking point. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
So - hey! Maybe next time I blog I'll be at home on my own network!

The Most Depressing Fairytale Ever
Once upon a time there was a girl who had been without power for five days.
That girl was in her office at church one Thursday afternoon when the power came back. The girl was ecstatic and called her church leaders to give them the great news. The phone and Internet weren't back yet but the girl was happy to work without them. At least she could turn the lights on!
Later that night the girl drove up her street and noticed that the power lines that had been tangled in trees since Sunday had been cleared and every house on the street had power.
The girl was getting ready to open her car window and give her husband (who was following in his truck) a fist pump when she noticed that everything went dark the house before hers.
Apparently her house is on another grid.
A grid that has not yet been fixed.
The girl cried.
The End.

My Pysche Is Playing Tricks On Me
I had a dream last night that I was laying on my bed and all of a sudden the television in our room turned on - the power was back!
And then I woke up.
And the TV was not on.
Neither was the fan.
Or either one of our clocks.
Deep breath.
I asked for a venti this morning.
The good news is that according to National Grid 85% of Massachusetts has their power restored. While it is depressing that I am part of the lone 15% without power (as is the church and a large percentage of my church members), at least at this point there is less ground for National Grid to cover.
Alright, I'm settled into Starbucks to get some work done. You can tell that people are getting their power back because it is less crowded today!
