Heavy Heart

We finally have a day of sunshine ...

But my heart is heavy for Joplin, MO and everyone out in the Midwest that has been ravaged by tornadoes.  I logged onto twitter last night before I went to bed and saw that Joplin was preparing for another tornado - my stomach was just in knots.  I couldn't sleep.  It's just not fair.

Music is a form of therapy for me and I have a tendency to listen to songs on repeat when I'm in need of worship and prayer.  It's sort of like Lectio Divina with music.  Last night I put the song, 'Hallelujah' on repeat and let the words fill my soul.  It didn't change what was going on, but it was my way of coping in that moment.

It doesn't seem right to go on 'business as usual' over here and talk about breakfast right now.  So instead, I'll share the song that touched me last night.

Praying for a peace-filled day for all of you.

  1. My prayers seem so small compared to the massive devastation. I keep singing the hymn "On Christ the Solid Rock I Stand." Hymn therapy helps me cope-it really helped on the Katrina missions...and the victims too.
