Cinnamon Scones

Drop what you're doing.  Right now.

This is important.

Make.  These.  Scones.

Thanks for listening.  Here's how you do it.

Cinnamon Scones
adapted from this recipe

2 cups Flour
1/3 cup Sugar
1 tablespoon Baking Powder
1 teaspoon Cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon Salt
1/2 cup (1 stick) Butter
2/3 cup Milk
1 Egg, slightly beaten
1 teaspoon Vanilla

Start by throwing your flour into a mixing bowl.

Then add your sugar ...

And your baking powder ...

And your cinnamon ...

And your salt.

Whisk it all together with a fork!

Then take a stick of butter and cut it into cubes.  Dump them into the flour mixture.

*It's much easier to do this with cold butter, so leave the stick in the fridge until you're ready for it!

Throw your milk into a separate bowl ...

Add in your beaten egg ...

And your vanilla.

Give it a nice whisk!

Pour the liquid mixture into the dry ingredient / butter mixture ...

And mix!  I used my mixer, but the mixer isn't necessary if you don't have one.  Feel free to use your hands!  I would recommend removing your rings first.

Take the (very, very sticky) dough out of the bowl and throw it on a cutting board.  Shape it into a 8-9 inch circle.

And cut it like a pizza pie!

Place the scones on a greased cookie sheet and bake at 400 degrees for about 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.

*You may need to bake longer, my oven is a little on the warm side.

Then eat one.

Or two.  No one is judging.

Not me, anyway.

Because I ate two.

Okay, it's time for you to make these now.

Ready ...

Set ...

GO!
