On Chile, Food, Fortunes and Rainbows

Happy Chile Day!

I cried tears of absolute joy this morning as I watched coverage of the miners being rescued.  I wanted to lay on the couch and watch all 33 men emerge, but I did have to get to work eventually.  Luckily twitter kept me up to date all day.  The last guy is making his journey home as I type this!

Scratch that - I got distracted to write my council report and just checked the news.  All 33 miners are rescued!!!!!

I'm not sure what made me more emotional - watching the coverage or watching the newscasters getting so emotional as the covered it.  Brian Williams said on Nightly News tonight that it is really nice - for a change - to report good news.  I wish that were the case more often.

I knew it would happen - I was SO HUNGRY today!  I decided to treat myself to some Doc Chey's with a few coworkers for lunch and devoured veggie spring rolls and a huge bowl of fried rice.  I was so full at the end of lunch, but was literally hungry two hours later.  Bruce thinks I'm crazy.

Um, I love this fortune.  I might frame it.

I had plans to take a walk to stretch my legs this afternoon, but about a half hour before I left work, my sinuses started to act up again, blech.  I came home and made myself a snack of yogurt and granola (because apparently I need to eat every three hours the days after these long runs) and downed two tall glasses of OJ.

I'm one of those people that has to drink their juice COLD.  I add tons of ice.

The yogurt hit the spot.  Until I got hungry again.

I was finishing off my second glass of OJ when Bruce called to tell me he was on his way home from work.  I answered and the first thing out of his mouth was, "What's wrong with you, you sound pathetic!"  I currently am sporting a super sexy manly sinus voice.  It's awesome.

Luckily, Bruce took pity on me and instructed me to lay on the couch while he cooked dinner.  Do I have the greatest husband in the world?  I think so.

Breakfast burritos.  Yum-me.

Okay, I'm off to drink lots and lots of tea.  Let's be real - I don't have time to get sick right now.

Goodnight!

  3. Mmmm that breakfast burrito looks yummy. And eating every 3 hours is good for you! Especially if your body is telling you that it needs fuel.
