What do you all think of my new design? I'll probably tweak it a little over the next couple of days, but it was definitely time for something new!
I don't really have much to say today. I woke up with a nagging headache, which only got worse as the day went on. I blame the "toasty forecast" (the meteorologists words, not mine), so I've been trying to just lay low and drink as much water as possible.
So since I have nothing else to share, here's another picture from yesterday's hike down to the waterfall ...
I was definitely feeling the hike in my muscles this morning. We didn't actually intend to hike far - but got a little turned around and ended up hiking out a mile or two and then having to backtrack to the waterfalls.
In flip flops.
On loose rocks.
I found the entire situation to be hysterical and when we finally got to the waterfall, the water felt even more refreshing!
Is it time to go back yet?
Anyway, I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. For those of you who were born and raised in this south and are used to dealing with these heinously hot summers - do you have any tips for a northerner who currently wants to find a way to attach herself to her AC vent?

Tips for staying cool:
ReplyDelete#1 - drink lots of water
#2 - wear clothing that breathes; the more loose fitting the better
#3 - try having your hair thinned out when it's cut. Your hair is thick like mine so having that extra "weight" and thickness off your head will help your head cool faster so your body will cool faster.
#4 - heat, like cold, is mostly mental. Don't go outside thinking it's an oven and celebrate when a breeze comes your way.
#5 - if all else fails, smile, because it is hotter where I am...because it's always hotter where I am...
I have hiked to several waterfalls in flip flops...and now that you have done it, you are even more my hero.
