Macro

I cannot even begin to imagine how much fun I would have had at Sara & Craig's wedding site if I had a macro lens.  I still managed to capture this photo, though ...

I love macro photography.  You get to see the intimate details - the nooks and crannies, the lines and crevices - of your subject.

It's sort of like ministry.  Today I had a session with my CPE group (off-site from the hospital - a nice break!) where we told the stories of our lives.  One of the things I talked about was my integrated love of storytelling and photography.  I said that - in a way - macro photography can teach us how to enter into and read someone's story.  As a pastor or chaplain, I get to see the intimate details - the nooks and crannies, the lines and crevices - of the people in my community.  It is such an honor to be allowed into their lives.

  1. Beautiful picture and a great way of explaining what you do. I don't have a macro lens but I've been wanting one. Are there any that you have your eye on? I hope you have a great weekend!
