She Only Looks Innocent

Who me?!

Bruce and I were half asleep last night when we heard a loud crash downstairs.  Now, I'm all about women power and everything, but I delegate the investigation of middle-of-the-night crashes to Bruce.

Sorry mom.  Sometimes feminism is dead to me.

Anyway, Bruce went down to investigate and I could hear him immediately grumbling at Lilly from my office.  Apparently he found her on my desk ... looking guilty.

Here's the thing - there are doors to my office that we can close - and we do.  But she has figured out how to open them!

So when I came downstairs this morning I found this:

Bruce apparently rigged up a lock using pipe cleaners.  He's so handy.

Anyway, last night's Jamaican coffee had me up allllllll night.  I woke up late, kind of groggy and in serious need of a delicious breakfast with lots of flavor.

I started with one of my cinnamon scones - have you made these yet?

I served it on the side of a bowl of deliciousness.

PB&J Oatmeal:
1/3 cup Oats
2/3 cup Water
1/3 cup Chopped Walnuts
1 cookie scoop Peanut Butter
1 cookie scoop Jam

- Stir the oats and the water over medium/high heat until your oats are nice and fluffy.
- Add in the walnuts and fold them in.
- Serve it up and top with one cookie scoop full of PB and one cookie scoop full of jam - I used strawberry!

Mmm ... let's look at this picture again.

Well that's pretty.

Cranberry juice served over ice with a splash of orange.

Here's to hoping this cup of coffee does the trick today!

I love natural light!  It's 20 degrees outside, but I couldn't resist the sunshine to get these photos.

I'm heading over to the high school later to make a white photography backdrop with my dad so I can take head shots of his cast tomorrow.  Has anyone ever tried to do this before?  If we are successful - I'll let you know how we did it!

Have a great day!

  2. Hey, I let Dad go down in the middle of the night too! It has nothing to do with feminism....all to do with I don't want to get out of bed! And, we used rubber bands to keep "the girls" out! -mom

  3. Awww, kitties can be so naughty sometimes. I like the kitty-proof lock. We have 4 kitties, but they pretty much have free-range. I suppose if they were banned from some rooms they'd channel all their resources to get in, lol.
