Hummmmmm ...

... us!

I have had a can of chick peas in my pantry for a couple of weeks and decided tonight while Bruce and I were making dinner that I wanted some hummus to snack on.  I don't have a food processor, so I had to do it the old fashioned way - with a mortar and pestle!

It was really easy.  I drained and rinsed one can of chick peas and put it in the mortar, then poured on a drizzle of olive oil and a splash of water.  I seasoned with a pinch of sea salt, a few shakes of paprika and some garlic powder.  Then I ground it all up!

It had kind of a dry and fluffy texture, which I liked.  If you like it thinner and smoother, add a bit more oil and water.

I sipped on a small glass of wine while we cooked breakfast for dinner.

We have this all the time, and yet it never gets old!

We're watching the movie Gia (with Angelina Jolie) right now.  It is extremely intense, but I think it gives a pretty accurate depiction about the devastation that drugs can cause in a person's life.  I think it also sheds some light on the lives and pressures of being a supermodel.  I think there are definitely parts of the culture that need healing.  Has anybody else ever seen it?  It's pretty old ...

Night all!
