Five Friday Favorites

It's Friday night and I'm on my couch in sweatpants doing sermon research.

I'm not sure what this says about me.

I think I am starting to feel the wear and tear of the search and call process.  Things are going very well, but living in an in-between time and staring into the future of the unknown is starting to take its toll on me.

I appreciate the blogging community more than I could possibly ever express right now.  I love the daily interaction and the creative inspiration.  It fuels me.

Every week SnoWhite over at Joy In My Kitchen showcases her Friday Favorites, recipes that she's come across throughout the week on websites and blogs that she wants to try in her own kitchen (my Black Bean Burgers made the list this week!).  She has invited people to link up with some of their favorites this week and I thought it would be fun to jump in.

The snow-and-ice-related running hiatus that I am (involuntarily) on right now has me a little bit nutty.  Giving myself 20 minutes to mindlessly browse through some of my favorite food and cooking blogs was just what I needed to stabilize myself after a hectic day!  I hope you enjoy.

(I set it so when you click on the photos you get taken directly to the recipe - click away!)

This looks delicious.

Kari's mom said it was delicious.

It's the Pioneer Woman.

Need I say more?

Emily inspires me every day to try new vegetables.  She has an incredible way of making not-often-used greens look like comfort food.  I think it's magic.

I also think she has incredible camera presence (like stage presence, only with a vide camera).  I think I commented on this post and told her that I hoped Food Network would give her a show.  I wonder if I'll get production credit?

Maybe it's because I'm back in New England, but I've got 'maple' on my mind these days.  I look at this photo and my mouth literally waters.

I actually came across this recipe because it was a Foodbuzz Top 9.  Doesn't it look delicious?  It looks like something my father used to make.

I actually didn't know what minestrone soup was before a few days ago, when I found a can of it in my pantry.  As I was eating it, I was thinking that it couldn't be that difficult - looks like it isn't!

That was fun!  Head over to this post to see some other favorites.  Consider publishing your own and linking up!  Food blogs are cheap therapy, as far as I'm concerned.

Okay, I've played around long enough.  My sermon beckons!

Night!

  3. That daisy picture is so pretty, so spring-like. I think I need to print it out as a reminder that winter will actually end eventually ;-)

I don't know much about the search and call process, but I can relate 110% to that feeling of in between time/transition. It can be tough - and scary - not to know exactly what the future holds. I try to remind myself that things happen for a reason and they happen like they're supposed to, even when it doesn't seem like it. Hang in there. GREAT things are coming for you :)
