An 'A' For Effort

Even the best laid plans of mice and men go awry. - John Steinbeck, Of Mice and Men

Thanks everyone!  Now ... What does it mean?  Does it basically mean, "We plan, God laughs"?

Bruce and I both spent the morning glued to our computers.  This afternoon we parted ways - him up a mountain and me down to the high school to try to dig my dad out of a mountain (a mountain of sheet music and paperwork, that is).

I'm almost ashamed to post photos of my lunch.  Peanut Butter Crackers and a Diet Coke, consumed on my way to see my dad.

Do I get an 'A' for presentation at least?

I know that I get an 'A' for organization!

Check out the progress I made on one of my dad's file rooms!  With the busyness of the holiday concert season, it had kind of become a dumping ground and he needed the space cleaned out so he can give midterms in it.

It's funny how I can be calm and completely organize and clean someone else's life, but when it comes to mine I still get overwhelmed from time to time!  For example ...

We both have offices with HUUUUUGE desks and yet we cram ourselves onto the much-smaller dining room table?

Ahhhh, much better.

Dinner tonight was some of my dad's leftover chili from New Year's Eve.  My parents have been extremely gracious with their leftovers from all of the holiday festivities and we appreciate that!  Maybe if we eat up all the leftover chili, my dad will just have to make another batch and teach me (and in doing so - you all) how to make it?

I served it up the same as before.  On a bed of rice, topped with cheese ...

And served using tortilla chips. :)

My aunt gave me this for Christmas.  I like dark chocolate and I like raspberries, but I wasn't sure about the raisins.

It was good though.  I think the raspberry/raisin flavor cut out some of the bitterness of the dark chocolate.  Yum.

I have a busy night ahead of me, so I'll say goodnight now - 'night!

p.s. Do you like my new head shot at the top of my page?  Bruce took it this afternoon!
p.p.s. Tomorrow is the first Wear a Dress Tuesday of 2011!  I can't wait!

  1. Your new picture is gorgeous! And that's my favorite way to serve chili as well, on rice. Well, it's actually my favorite way to serve anything :) I just love rice!
