When Did Atlanta Become Home?

That's what I asked Bruce tonight as we were driving away from Decatur, having just said goodbye to Tim, Elisabeth and Ephrem.  Leaving our friends here is absolutely heartbreaking, but I feel blessed to have such wonderful friends to begin with.

Dinner was a PB&J.  I'm sorry, these meals are getting progressively more and more boring.

Did the trick, though.  I made this in the corner of the kitchen, because Bruce literally took everything apart while I was at work.  Our breakfast buffet is currently in our living room.

We met Tim, Elisabeth and Ephrem at Java Monkey.  Such a cool place - delicious cappuccino!  It makes me feel like I'm at Central Perk. :)

Look who was all bundled up!

You don't mind looking at some pictures of an adorable baby, do you?

He wanted to try my cappuccino.

Hard to resist this face.

Ahhh, I'm going to miss him!  After we finished up we walked outside and Tim said a prayer.  I tried not to cry, but failed miserably.  I told Ephrem not to grow up too fast and reminded Tim & Elisabeth that Connecticut is a really nice place to visit.

No, really.  It is.  That stuff about being buried in snow and the temperature not going above freezing in March is just for the guidebooks.

Bruce and I weren't really up to driving straight home, so we went down to Atlantic Station to see the Christmas tree!  I didn't have the right lens to get a good shot of the whole tree, but here are some nice ones of Bruce and me in front of it.

Christmas lights and decorations always make me feel better.  Agreed?

Alright, I told myself I would pack for two hours and then crawl into bed.  Goodnight all!

  1. What a beautiful tree - you're right, it's hard not to feel cheered up when you look at something like that! As hard as it sounds like this week is for you, I'm glad you have something like that to take joy and comfort in :)
