A Psalmist's Suggestion

Be still, and know that I am God.
Psalm 46:10

Anybody else staying up for the Lunar Eclipse tonight?

I'm undecided.  I might make a pot of coffee soon and see how I feel around midnight.

I spent most of my day at my desk.  The search and call process can be a little bit confusing, but, thankfully, gmail is keeping me organized.

I'm using folders, sub-folders and more sub-folders to organize all of my correspondences.  I like using sub-folders rather than just adding more folders - it keeps me from mixing up email conversations without cluttering up my inbox (I can collapse everything when I'm doing something else).  When I showed this to Bruce he looked at me like I was crazy, but the organization actually calms me.

Lunch was leftovers from last night's dinner, consumed at my desk while working.

At least I had a yummy smelling candle to set a pleasant mood amidst the papers and wires!

My aunt gave this to me for Christmas.  The candle itself is made out of soy and the glass is all recycled!  I'm not really big on major gift-giving, but I love fun stuff like this.

Dinner was PB&J in front of the Christmas tree.  Staring at the twinkly lights was much needed after a long day in front of my computer.  Every now and then I get caught up in the fact that I truly am living in an "in between" time - and my Type A inclination to plan, plan plan is screaming for some stability.  For now I really am trying to just take a deep breath, relax and enjoy the last bit of the holiday season.  I am trying to - as the psalmist suggests - be still.

Sometimes I'm better at this than others.

And on that note, I'm going to shut my computer (gasp!) for the night to spend some time with my wonderful husband.  Goodnight!

  1. Since when does gmail have folders? I tried to find them when I first started gmail a few years ago and never could. If they've really been there the whole time I'm going to feel a little silly.

As for the lunar eclipse, while I think it would be neat to see, I definitely need my sleep and don't think I could function tomorrow if I tried to do it.

  2. I feel ya on the organization keeping you calm...you know how I am about that! Of course you couldn't tell by looking at my room right now. This living in transition stuff is no fun.

P.S. Why isn't there an "Iowa" folder under your search and call? :)

  4. I am the exact same way about organization. My database of literary agents is alphabetized, columnized, and grouped into sections. There's something comforting about being able to be in control over at least one aspect of the process :)

    Good luck with everything!!
