On WADT, Breast Cancer Awareness & Half Marathon Training 10/5/10

Hello there!  How was your Wear a Dress Tuesday?  Mine was fabulous!  I took a mini internet break this afternoon to get some work-related things done and it felt SO good to knock some stuff off my to-do list.  Oo-rah!

At the beginning of the month I decided that I would add a little bit of pink to all of my Wear a Dress Tuesday outfits for the month of October.  It was 50-something degrees when I woke up this morning, so I decided that today would be a perfect day to pull a pink pashmina!

I got this pashmina in Italy when I was cruising up and down the Eastern Mediterranean with my parents in 2007.  Sadly, that was the last time I've used my passport - longest I've gone without international travel in a long time. :( I paired it with a pink bracelet and pair of earrings, both from the Kohls clearance racks, ha!

Cold enough for leggings!  I love fall!

Every time I looked down today I thought about all of the wonderful saints who are enjoying life in Heaven, completely free of such an awful disease.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord my whole life long.
- Psalm 23:6

I had three miles on my half marathon training schedule for today and I headed out after work for my own personal 5K!  It was a little bit warmer than it was yesterday, but wowee the wind was still a force to be reckoned with.

In the end, I did a 5K (3.1 miles) in 32:16, averaging a 10:24 mile pace.  I was definitely happy with that!  I'm still building up my endurance and figuring out how to eat so that my body feels its best during my runs.  Any suggestions?

I'm off - how is it after 10:00 already?  Oh my ...

Goodnight!

  1. Love the pink accents! I thought of you when I was shopping at Kohl's over the weekend and picked up two dressed on clearance. I was hoping to join WADT and put myself totally out there (since I NEVER wear dresses anymore) but when I got home the hubs thought the dresses where awful and said he was telling me that for my own good. I was bummed and clearly I need help in the fashion dept so maybe one day I can get myself together and join in!

  2. Meant to say "dresses" not "dressed" in that last comment, sorry!
