Half Marathon Training - 9/11/10

Good morning!

I was up at 7:30 so I could get a 5 mile run in before the day started.  I was planning to run the cobble, which are two relatively flat, scenic roads in Kent (both with the name Cobble something or other).  My sister was kind enough to come with my so I didn't have to run it alone.

It was a beautiful 52 degrees when we left!  The sun was warm, though, so it was perfect running weather.

This is part of the cobble - isn't it pretty?!

Bethany and me after our run.  She stuck with me for the first mile and then did run/walk intervals while I ran.

In the end, I ran 5.07 miles in 55:04, averaging a 10:51 mile.  This was my long run of the week - each week, these runs increase by one mile.

I'm holding up fingers because that's how many miles I ran. :)

Today is September 11th and I am sure it would be appropriate if I had something deep to say.  But I can't really think of anything that hasn't already been said.  So I'll leave you with a phrase that was running through my head as I was running this morning and staring at a beautiful road in front of me:

Let there be peace on earth.

Have a great day y'all.
