Chasing Waterfalls

Leg update:  I can walk!  Sarah gchatted me this morning and gave me the following advice:  You shouldn't be running 4 miles at this point anyway.  Ha!  Lesson learned.  I'll stick to walking and pilates for a couple of days.

I spent the morning with a serious case of "blinking cursor syndrome".  I was working on my CPE Final Evaluation and just could not get it together.  It took me three hours to answer one question (out of a total of twelve) and decided I needed to get out of the house.  I grabbed my camera and headed up to Roswell, Georgia to one of the Chattahoochee National Park sites, specifically one with a waterfall ...

Waterfalls are SO much more fun to shoot when you have a tripod (and as of yesterday I do!), because you can slow the shutter speed down to a crawl and don't have to worry about keeping a steady hand.

And with the slow shutter speed you're able to capture the continual flow of the moving water.

Have I ever talked about the fact that I think waterfalls are like transitions?

They are fast-moving, a little hectic and no matter how much you prepare at some point you have to go flying through it.

But they are also beautiful.  Very, very beautiful.

And eventually the water calms down again.

My "blinking cursor syndrome" may have something to do with the fact that I'm in the middle of the waterfall right now.

I'm off to attempt to get some work done.  Tomorrow is Wear a Dress Tuesday!  Don't forget to e-mail/facebook/twitter/text (oh my) me your pictures!

  4. Love this post because I can so relate. I'm so nervous about Alyssa starting school next week but I know we'll get through. Life of full of transitions and love how you compare them to waterfalls. Beautiful pics, my dear! ;)
