A Life Well Lived Yet Gone Too Soon

On Sunday night, the world lost an actress, a playwright, a starlet.

But on Sunday night, my family lost a very dear friend.

Lynn Redgrave - member of the British acting dynasty and remembered often for her role in Georgy Girl - died on Sunday night.  When her family released a statement, news sources immediately responded.  Twitter lit up, photo slideshows were put together, an obituary was released.

But Lynn - a friend of mine who worshipped with me, encouraged me in my ministry, invited me into her home and celebrated with me at my wedding - died on Sunday night.  When my mom called and told me the news, I cried.  I thanked God for the time that I had with her and the joy she and her family have brought to my life.

I haven't felt much like blogging lately.  The press was all over the story and I wanted to protect her family by keeping quiet.  But I did want to pop in and say hi and that I am still here - I am just grieving the loss of a friend, putting my thoughts together and waiting for the dust to settle so I can feel comfortable sharing some of those thoughts.  It just didn't seem right to be 'business as usual' when it wasn't.

But I promise I will be back - until then, I will be with you all in prayer.

xo,
Sarah

Psalm 23
A Psalm of David

The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures; he leads me beside still waters;
he restores my soul.  He leads me in right paths for his name's sake.

Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I fear no evil evil; for you are with me; you rod and your staff - they comfort me.

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord my whole life long.
