The gentlemen who passed live a long and wonderful life. It was wonderful to meet his family, to hear stories and see photographs from his life. In a strange way, it is moments like the one I was apart of this morning that prove to me just how present God is in my life.
I read an ancient Sanskrit poem during the service that was so powerful I wanted to share it on here.
Look To This Day
Look to this day
for it is life
the very life of life.
In its brief course lie all
the realities and truths of existence
the joy of growth
the splendor of action
the glory of power.
For yesterday is but a memory
And tomorrow is only a vision.
But today well lived
makes every yesterday a memory
of happiness
and every tomorrow a vision of hope.
Look well, therefore, to this day....
for it is life
the very life of life.
In its brief course lie all
the realities and truths of existence
the joy of growth
the splendor of action
the glory of power.
For yesterday is but a memory
And tomorrow is only a vision.
But today well lived
makes every yesterday a memory
of happiness
and every tomorrow a vision of hope.
Look well, therefore, to this day....
Amen.
Nice....very, very nice.
