Playing With Stage Lights

The sets are continuing to go up for my dad's show!  I haven't been around for this stage of the show in years so it's fun to watch it all happen again!

Instead of building a frame for the photography backdrop (I'm taking head shots of the cast and crew tomorrow), we decided just to tape the white sheet to the wall so we could light it with something fun and the light wouldn't go through it.

This is our set up!  We've got a light with a gel in it hanging down from the catwalks to light the backdrop and the two lights set up on either side to light the people (we have them on both sides to cancel out the shadows they would cast).  It's going to look neat!

Understanding light is a big part of understanding photography, so it was a lot of fun to play today.

My dad took me out to dinner at Primo's Deli.  One of his former student's dad owns it and I had never been before!

Ohmygoodness.  I haven't had GOOD Hispanic food since I left Atlanta and this totally fed my craving.  The family who owns the deli is from the Dominican Republic, so everything had an amazing and unique flavor.

I ordered a chicken burrito.  Let's see if I can remember what all was in it ...

Oh man.  Chicken, black beans, guacamole, lettuce, onions, pico de gayo, cheese, chipotle mayo and yellow rice.  And they heated up the wrap before they stuffed it so everything melted together!  It was completely messy to eat, but totally worth it.

Alright, I'm sitting in front of a fire and sermon-writing bound.  I'm preaching this weekend!

Night. :)

  1. I miss Dominican food quite a bit, and would love it if there was a restaurant owned by Dominicans around here. I love going home to my parents' house for Christmas because we have fires every night. I miss having a fire place down here:(

  4. Hi Sherri! Posting as anonymous is fine! I think you can put "Sherri" in the box if you want - I wish blogger had a better way of allowing people w/o a profile to comment!

Thanks Tatiana! I'll pass along the message to my dad. :)
