Ghost Of Ash Wednesdays Past

Morning!

I went to make coffee this morning and realized there was none!  I frantically texted Bruce at work (he starts at 5) and he said he would bring me some for a late breakfast.

A new blend!  I like it - it has a very subtle flavor, which is nice is the morning.

PB&J Oatmeal, topped with chocolate chips!

Delicious coffee.

Worth the wait.

Today is Ash Wednesday - the first day in Lent.  I was feeling nostalgic this morning and looking back on pictures from my last two Ash Wednesdays at my church in Georgia.

This was 2009.  I was a student intern at the church and this service was one of the first times that I really felt like a pastor.  It was amazing.

2010 - we had just finished a renovation in the sanctuary of the church and I couldn't stop staring at the stained glass as I set up the altar for worship.

We really took seriously the notion of "from the earth" as we set up the altar.  It was neat.

I'm pretty sure that if you had asked me at last year's service where I would be in a year, my answer wouldn't be close to where I actually am today.  So much has happened - and I am thrilled and blessed to be where I am today.

Have a great day!

  3. @Tatiana - it's from Goodwill!

@Courtney - ha! I actually don't really mix as much as I get a bunch of oatmeal on my spoon and then dip it in all the toppings ... I want to make sure I get some of everything in every bite!
