Christmas Tree Shops: A Food Blogger's Paradise

Whoa, it's 11 p.m.?  Where did my day go?

This afternoon I asked my mom if she wanted to take a trip down to the bank with me.  The closest Wachovia is a solid 40 minutes from my house, so I welcomed the company (and the shopping trip that accompanied it!).

We both had inadvertently skipped lunch, so after a trip through Kohls we were starving!  We stopped at Chili's and they couldn't bring the chips & salsa to me fast enough!

I miss the Chili's I used to go to in Atlanta.  With my Emory ID, I got FREE chips & salsa!

I ordered the Quesadilla Explosian Salad.  My favorite!  I always order it sans citrus dressing ...

And drizzle it with ranch!  Mmm.  Actually, now that I think about it, this wouldn't be that difficult to re-create at home.

Once we were properly fueled, we headed over to Barnes and Noble so I could get my hands on a copy of The Pioneer Woman's new book.  I absolutely adore her (I mean, who doesn't?) so I can't wait to read the end of her cowboy love story. :)

Now for the fun part.  Barnes and Noble is right near Christmas Tree Shops.  Is this a northeast thing or are they all over the country?  I've only ever seen them here.

I used to hate this store.

There's just ... stuff.  Everywhere.

And ... people.  Everywhere.

And ... commotion.  Everywhere.

Bargains bring out a dark side in people.

HOWEVER.

Tonight it was quiet.  And full of fabulous deals.

(Kudos to my mom who pulled out her credit card and paid for all of these fabulous deals!)

Each of these items was under $2.  That's amazing.  Enjoy!

I am an Aquarius, through and through. (My birthday is a week from tomorrow!) Now I have a mug to match!

Two more soup crocks.  $1 EACH.  How delicious would Cheddar Chowder look in these?

Perfect for oatmeal, yes?

I LOVE this green color.  It is very close to the lime green fiestaware color, but came without the fiestaware price (and I could buy just one!).

Hello my name is Sarah and I have a problem.  I hoard dishware.

Bruce: Um, where are you going to put this stuff?

I can't help it!  Every time I see a unique piece of dishware I imagine myself photographing it.  That's normal, right?

Alright, I'm exhausted and have an early morning wake up call.

Night!

  1. I LOVE your dishware. The ones I use are many years old, and I bought them when I got my apartment as a college senior. I need to find some cute dishware...or you can go shop for me:)

  7. The 1st and only time I've ever been in a Christmas Tree Shop was when in Maine over the holidays with my boyfriends family. His mom loves the store but the boys complained the ENTIRE way there. We had a ton of fun once we were there and rummaging around- I honestly loved it. :P

  9. I'm glad I'm not the only one who is completely mesmerized by stores like that! I think I could have spent hours just milling around and thinking about how I would use different pieces! If any of you take a trip there and grab some neat finds, let me know! xo Sarah
