On Watching Basketball, Giving Thanks and Eating Carbs

Today, we raced out of church and headed down to Georgia Tech ...

... for Bruce's first UCONN Women's basketball game!  The Huskies were in town playing Georgia Tech and my dad called and offered to pay for us to go.

Doesn't he look excited?  He knows that Connecticut = College Basketball, so he has jumped on the bandwagon and was thrilled to be able to get to a game.

Thanks Daddy!

Having the defending National Champions in town was a huge deal for Georgia Tech - the place was packed!

Live basketball is so much fun.

See the blonde assistant coach?  That's Shea Ralph.  She played for UCONN when I was playing high school ball.  I used to envy her ability to shoot outside the perimeter.  Today I was envying her shoes.

Maya Moore - a Connecticut heroine.  Georgia native!

Halftime!

UCONN wins by 20!

Driving home ...

Detouring through Atlantic Station ...

This building used to say Wachovia.  I want to know how they changed the letters.  It couldn't have been easy.

After a ten minute pit stop at home, we were back up at church for the annual Thanksgiving dinner!  We have so much and so many people to be thankful for at that church.

That wasn't even half of the food there!  It was ridiculous.  And amazing.

Look who found a friend!

I had an entire plate of carbohydrates - four days until the race!  I will be massively overloading on carbs until then.

It's a tough job, but someone's gotta do it.

I hope your Sunday was as incredible as mine.

  1. Those carbs look extra delicious!

I'm not a huge fan of watching basketball on TV, but live basketball is a whole different story. Looks like you had tons of fun!

  2. Carbo loading during the thanksgiving is just alright.
