On Heroism, Cats and Oatmeal

Good morning!  I came across a story this morning about injured soldiers finding new life after injuries in battle.  Some even returned to active duty!  Their heroism and commitment to the U.S. military is incredible.  It definitely put my worries and anxieties about moving into perspective.  It's a great read to get you ready for veteran's day.

Look who was being helpful last night as I worked on our puzzle?

Nixy.

I went to bed HUNGRY last night.  Does that ever happen to you?  I was already thinking about what I wanted for breakfast as I drifted off to sleep.  Poor Bruce was trying to go to sleep and I kept asking if we could get up and make breakfast then.

I decided on a huge bowl of PB&J Oatmeal.  I usually make oatmeal with 1/3 cup of oats, but I used 1/2 cup today.  Hit the spot!

Served with coffee.  Of course.

Back to work!  I've already had a battle (I won!) with the copier this morning.  I have a feeling that it's going to be a great day.

  3. I can never understand how the solders and their families volunteer to put their lives in danger. It's so brave and heroic of them indeed.
Your food always looks so healthy and yummy :-)

  4. Love PBJ oats. They are so satisfying. And I hate going to bed hungry. I don't know if I could have done it.

  5. I cannot go to sleep hungry! I have to eat- it doesn't matter what time it is. If I don't, I can't sleep. I'm amazed you could!

  6. I can't say I've ever gone to bed hungry- there's no sleeping if that's the case! Even if there's a slight twinge in my tummy, I have to go have a banana or something otherwise I'll wake up in the middle of the night about the gnaw my arm off.

But PB & J oats are the perfect way to tame a grumbling tummy!
