I Love Sundays, Fall and Greek Festivals

Hello there!  I hope you all had a wonderful Sunday - mine was six shades of fabulous. :)

For starters ... lunch.  One of my favorite parts about having a big taco feast is that is puts all of the ingredients for breakfast burritos in my refrigerator.

Such a simple meal!  Scramble eggs topped with diced tomatoes, cheese and taco sauce.

I wanted onions, but apparently we ate them all last night.  Whoops!

After lunch I called Sarah to catch up on life and when I came back I found this ...

Yes, my husband is swinging in a hammock on our porch tying knots.  Check out his blog for more details on the book he is "tying" his way through (kind of like cooking through Julia Child's cookbook).

I think yesterday's run finally caught up to my appetite, because not even an hour after lunch I was starving again.

Yogurt, granola and pineapple pieces, yum!

I eat Yoplait Original.  Did you know that Yoplait has a "Save Lids to Save Lives" campaign going to fight breast cancer?  Check it out and SAVE YOUR LIDS!

After that we were off to ...

... the Atlanta Greek Festival!  We literally have lived within walking distance from the Greek Orthodox Cathedral where this takes place every year and have never gone.  Today was the last day and it did not disappoint!

There was music and dancing ...

... beautiful architecture ...

... and a sanctuary filled with millions and millions of tiles creating beautiful mosaics (this piece of Jesus is in the dome and it was made in Italy - it has 3 million tiles in it!) ...

... and beautiful religious artifacts.

Oh, and did I mention that the food was all authentically Greek?  Oh.My.Yumminess - this Gyro was to die for!  Does anyone have a good recipe for the bread they make these things on?

One of the best parts?

It never even hit 70 degrees today and the wind was blowing the entire time!  We wore jeans and jackets!

I wore my garmin since I was curious how far it actually was and, when it was all said and done, we walked 4 miles!  It was the perfect way to stretch my legs after yesterday's run.

We took the long way home and stopped at Starbucks for a treat.  We have been really good about eating at home all month, so we thought two coffees on a date day of sorts wouldn't really break the bank.  Bruce got a Pumpkin Spice Latte and (because I'm not really into pumpkin - I know, cardinal sin!) I got a Caramel Latte.  Home is about 0.50 miles from Starbucks, so are drinks were nice to warm our hands for the last part of our walk.

I also snapped a picture of this pretty guy on my way home.  It's strange what blooms in the fall in Georgia.

Now we're home and watching football (what else is new?) and I marveling at the awesome deals I scored.  There was tons of shopping to be done, but I told myself I could only spend $10.

These purses were fun to look at, but the price tag was wayyyyyyy over budget.

Luckily a friendly Greek man was selling these beautiful handmade earrings 2/$10.  You can't tell from the picture, but they are actually extremely lightweight, which I prefer.

Of course the best part of the purchase was when I said, "Have a great day!" and he replied with an enthusiastic, "Opa!"

And now I want to go to Greece.

The End.
