A Leap of Faith

Kari and I went to see Eat Pray Love tonight.  I've read the book, so I fully expected to walk away from the movie wanting to travel.  And eat.

Instead, I walked away thinking about my life.

“[Rome] has grown up around [ruins] over the centuries. It feels like a precious wound, a heartbreak you won’t let go of because it hurts too good. We all want things to stay the same. Settle for living in misery because we’re afraid of change, of things crumbling to ruins. Then I looked at around to this place, at the chaos it has endured – the way it has been adapted, burned, pillaged and found a way to build itself back up again. And I was reassured, maybe my life hasn’t been so chaotic, it’s just the world that is, and the real trap is getting attached to any of it. Ruin is a gift. Ruin is the road to transformation.”
- Eat Pray Love

Here is a question for you:  How do you know when it is time to take a leap of faith?

I'm heading to Elon tomorrow morning for Jon's ordination and then am driving straight back to Atlanta afterwards, so I probably won't check in on here until Monday morning.  Have a wonderful Sabbath - may it be full of friends, family, fall, food and football.
